Post Offices across the country are authorized to process first-time passport applications for the U.S. Department of State. Additionally, many of these locations offer passport photo services.
For passport renewals, if you meet all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the "Renew a Passport by Mail" section, you can simply mail your renewal form directly to the State Department. However, if you do not meet all the renewal requirements, you will be required to visit a Post Office in person to complete a new, first-time passport application.
